Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
Tutor Tracker serves solely as an intermediary, connecting parents and tutors. Parents can browse tutor profiles and reach out directly to book classes using the contact information on their profile. Payment is also arranged directly between the two parties using the tutor’s preferred method, allowing tutors to retain 100% of their earnings from sessions.
For Tutors: Upon subscribing, you can create a public profile in our tutor directory, showcasing your qualifications and services. Your profile will remain visible to all users until your membership expires or is canceled, allowing you to effectively advertise your tutoring services for just £1 a month – tutors then get to keep all money earned for classes.
For Students/Parents: You gain full access to view all tutor profiles in our directory, including their contact details. This allows you to reach out to tutors directly and arrange as many classes as you wish, ensuring you find the right match for your educational needs
As Tutor Tracker operates on an annual subscription model, entering your card details is necessary to ensure seamless payment for future renewals of your membership. However, when using a free discount code, you will not be charged anything at the initial checkout. This allows you to enjoy our services now while ensuring your subscription remains active for the future.
If you’re having trouble logging in, make sure you are entering the correct email and password. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page. If you continue to experience issues, please contact us.
We welcome your feedback! Please use the contact form to share your thoughts, suggestions, or any issues you encounter, and we will consider them for future improvements.
While some platforms don’t charge an upfront fee, they typically take a 15-20% commission from tutors’ earnings or add up to 25% on top of the lesson price for parents. These fees quickly add up, making lessons more expensive over time.
At Tutor Tracker, we charge a simple subscription of just £12 a year for tutors to advertise themselves on the site. Tutors then keep 100% of their earnings, and parents pay less for lessons as tutors do not need to inflate lesson prices to cover commission costs. After just a few sessions, our pricing model saves both tutors and parents money compared to other platforms.
If you no longer need to use Tutor Tracker, either because you’ve found a tutor or no longer require students, you can easily cancel your subscription. Simply go to the “My Account” tab at the top of the page to access your account settings. Scroll down to view your active membership and click cancel. If you have an annual subscription, the next auto-renewal payment will be cancelled and you will retain access to Tutor Tracker until your current membership expires. While we’ll be sad to see you go, we completely understand if you no longer need the service and hope that you have found Tutor Tracker useful!
To reach out to Tutor Tracker, please use the contact us page. You will receive a response as soon as possible. Please note that Tutor Tracker is currently operated by a single individual, who is also a full-time teacher. I will do my best to get back to you promptly!

Each tutor sets their own rates, and Tutor Tracker serves solely as an intermediary, meaning we do not facilitate the sessions or set prices.
At Tutor Tracker, we believe in maintaining a fair and supportive environment for our tutors, who are qualified and experienced educators. Therefore, we do not implement a review system for tutors on our platform.
We recognize that the effectiveness of tutoring can be highly subjective and varies based on individual learning styles and needs. Rather than relying on reviews, we encourage parents and students to communicate directly with tutors to find the best fit for their educational requirements.
Our platform is designed to facilitate connections between parents and qualified tutors, ensuring that you have access to professionals who are dedicated to providing quality education.
Tutor Tracker does not facilitate trial lessons directly. However, you can contact the tutor through their profile to inquire about trial sessions or introductory meetings.

Tutor Tracker LTD requests evidence of qualifications during tutor registration, but we strongly recommend that parents and guardians independently verify a tutor’s credentials before booking any classes.
-
In Scotland, you can verify a tutor’s teaching status by searching their name on the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) Register.
-
In England, there is no public register for parents or guardians to verify a tutor’s qualifications directly through the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA). Instead, you should ask the tutor to provide proof of their qualifications, such as their Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) certificate or references from a school or educational employer.
Taking these steps helps ensure that the tutor is properly qualified to support your child’s learning.
If you suspect that a tutor has misrepresented their qualifications or credentials, it is important to act quickly. Contact us immediately at tutortrackercontact@gmail.com to report your concerns. We take these reports seriously and will investigate the matter thoroughly.
Please provide as much information as possible to support your claim, such as inconsistencies in the tutor’s provided documentation, qualifications, or identity. We recommend that, whenever possible, you verify a tutor’s credentials in advance by requesting copies of relevant qualifications (such as QTS certificates, Teacher Reference Numbers, GTCS number etc.)
For Tutors
Tutors must either be / have been registered primary or secondary teachers or have completed relevant training and possess the necessary qualifications to teach the subjects they are advertising. This ensures that all tutors have the appropriate expertise and background to provide effective support to students.
After logging into your account, go to the My Profile tab and click on the cog icon at the top right of your profile card. From there, you can edit your information, including your qualifications, subjects, and contact details.
If you’re fully booked or temporarily unable to take on more students, we recommend hiding your profile to avoid receiving new requests. You can do this by following the steps outlined in the “How to Hide My Profile” section below.
Remember to update or unhide your profile when you’re ready to accept new classes again. This helps maintain a smooth experience for both you and potential students.
Click on the my account tab when logged in and click on the privacy settings button. Here you will be given an option to hide your profile
Check that you have not previously hidden your profile from the directory (see the above question)
Check your membership has not expired – you can do this by logging in and you will get a prompt at the top of the home screen indicating that you must renew your membership.
No! You keep 100% of everything you earn. Tutor Tracker operates on a subscription model, costing only £1 a month for tutors. This structure allows you to retain all the income from your tutoring sessions, which we believe is a much fairer approach for the hard work you put into your teaching.
